Stay At The Dwellington When You Are In Wellington

Stay At The Dwellington When You Are In Wellington

We stayed at this cozy & beautiful property called The Dwellington for 2 nights in September. Thanks to Noah & the vibes of his hostel, our visit to Wellington was full of great memories. Here is a detailed review of our stay at The Dwellington.

Location

Location of the Dwellington, Wellington

The Dwellington is located about a km away from Wellington Railway Station. It is not exactly in the center but that is its advantage. The Dwellington is located in a cozy street. It is much secured because there is Chinese embassy next to the hostel & the American embassy in front of the hostel. This is the most secure location anybody can get. Center is just a 10 minutes stroll away. For me, location of The Dwellington was not an issue at all.

Staff Of The Dwellington

Noah is the guy running The Dwellington. Right from the reception to showing rooms to breakfast preparation to cleaning, Noah is everywhere with a big smile. It’s the people who make you feel at home. Noah did exactly that. He welcomed us with a smile. He also made a plan for us to explore Wellington the next day. We went to almost all the suggested places & each one of them was amazing. The staff at The Dwellington is perfect!

Room Quality

Room

We stayed in a family room where there was a double bed & 2 bunk beds. The room was simple & warm. The mattresses, pillows were soft & as good as new. The best part about The Dwellington is its aesthetics. Noah has definitely put in a lot of thought into designing this place.

The heater in the room was working well. The room also had windows which offered a nice view of the American embassy & the street. It doesn’t matter if you are a solo traveler, or a couple, or traveling with the family, The Dwellington is perfect for everyone.

Kitchen At The Dwellington

Kitchen Facility At The Dwellington

Ah! The kitchen. The best part about the kitchen was that it was sparkling clean at all times. A huge shout out to everyone staying at The Dwellington with us for keeping the kitchen so clean. There was enough stove-tops & utensils in the kitchen for guests. There is a dining hall where at least 20 people can sit together & have meals. That’s community building at its best.

Dining Room Wellington

The Dwellington also offers breakfast to its guests. The breakfast consisted of breads, butters, jams, cheeses, milks, cereals, hot beverages, cold juices, meat & many other items. The quality of all of it was outstanding. Noah was present in the kitchen during the breakfast time, helping everyone in keeping the kitchen clean throughout. The Dwellington also kept allergies in mind & offered Soy milk, Almond milk etc. at no additional cost. This is what separates a hostel from a great hostel.

Other Amenities

Tennis Court

There are many amenities at The Dwellington which you will never get at any other hostel in the world. The most exciting part? The tennis courts next door. All the guests can play at the tennis court next door for free. The hostel also has equipment in case you need it.

TV Room At The D

Another wonderful feature has to be the TV room. Instead of pushing one more dorm in the hostel, they have created a movie room where at least 20 people sit in the recliners & enjoy different movies every evening.

WiFi is available in all the corners of the hostel & it is fast. There are many toilets & bathrooms on every floor. This means you don’t have to wake up early to make sure that you are on time. The toilets & bathrooms were squeaky clean. It also had things which you will only get 4-5 star hotels.

In summer, it is also possible to use the BBQ facility outside. New Zealand is famous for electric scooters. By staying at The Dwellington, you also get a coupon where you can ride these electric scooters free for 10 minutes.

We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities at The Dwellington. Noah was a wonderful host who made our stay very pleasant.

Overall

Whenever you are visiting Wellington, book your stay at The Dwellington directly from their official website. Do it in advance as it tends to get full even during off-season period.
