Review: Wombat’s City Hostel, Munich

Review- Wombat’s City Hostel, Munich

Munich is a city quite different from other German cities. The charm of it is also quite different. During our trip to Munich, we stayed at Wombat’s City Hostel for 3 nights. Here is our detailed review about the hostel.

Location of Wombats

You can not get a better location than this, hands down. Wombat’s City Hostel is just 3-4 mins away (walking) from Munich’s Central Train Station. If you are arriving from the airport, you can simply take a train from the airport to the central station & walk to the hostel. Full points for the location for sure.

The reception of Wombat’s City Hostel is open 24×7. The staff is very friendly & check-in process is really smooth. Whatever questions you have about the hostel, the city or even the region, they will surely be able to help you with suggestions, tips & answers.

Room Quality

Room Quality of Wombats

We stayed in a dorm of 6 beds with attached bathroom. The room was really spacious. Usually, in such space, most hostels put about 12 beds but here, at Wombat’s City Hostel, there were only 6. Plenty of space to keep luggage, move around or simply chill.

The bedding was squeaky clean. There are enough plug points for every bed in the room. The attached bathroom was spacious as well & the room service cleaned it up real well every day.

Kitchen Quality

Bar of Wombats

Unfortunately, Wombat’s City Hostel doesn’t have a full fledged kitchen for travelers who’d like to cook but they are in process to get permission (I hope they get it soon). They do have a microwave, a hot water kettle etc. if you want to cook something basic.

The bar at Wombat’s City Hostel is crazy though! You get a free drink with check-in, you can redeem it whenever you want. The rates for drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) at the bar is quite reasonable. You can also order food items like Pizza at the bar.

Their breakfast is highly recommended for sure. Its a moderate spread but with real tasty stuff!

Wombat’s City Hostel is quite huge. There are many common areas where you can sit, chill, meet other travelers or just work. They have free Wi-Fi which works great, free luggage lockers, Laundry facility & free walking tours as well.

If you are visiting Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle, or any other nearby places, Wombat’s City Hostel is a great choice to stay at. It is definitely the best choice for backpackers & people young at heart. 😉
