Cologne is the 4th biggest city of Germany famous for its cathedrals & metro culture. We stayed in Cologne for 2 days with Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel. Here’s the detailed review of our stay.
Location
Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel is hardly 5-7 minutes away from Cologne Central Station. It is the most convenient location for backpackers. The most famous attraction of Cologne – The Cologne Cathedral – is reachable in 10 mins by feet. Other sights of Cologne are also nearby.
Staff of Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel
The staff of the hostel is quite nice. They are friendly & always around to help. Check-in & check-out process with them is extremely smooth. They also help with tours, tickets & other touristy things.
Room Quality
We stayed in a 4-bed dorm & it was quite spacious. Even after 8+ bags, our room wasn’t full. There are individual lockers for every member. The room also had a private bathroom. The good thing was that there were enough plugs for everyone! \m/
Kitchen Quality
The kitchen of Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel is really good! There are 3 separate cooking stations & lots of utensils in the kitchen. Their dining area is also comfortably big. If you are looking to buy ingredients for cooking, go to the Cologne Train Station & buy it from Rewe or Rossman.
Amenities
Interesting trivia time: Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel was an old church. The picture above shows the original structure of a church. That’s where the breakfast is served. There are few vending machines for snacks & drinks. If you want to just chill, you can sit on the 1st floor of the same building.
On good, sunny days, you can also chill outside as well.
They have a bar as well. If you are feeling lazy to go out for a drink, just sit at this bar.
Overall
If you are looking for a comfortable & cheap stay option near the Cologne Train Station & Cologne Cathedral, Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel is definitely the best choice! 🙂
