Review: Naples Experience Hostel, Naples

Famous for its coast, pizzas & lively people, Naples is definitely one of those place where everyone dreams of going at least once in life. We went to Naples for 4 days & stayed at Naples Experience Hostel. We also took day trips to Positano & Amalfi from here (sadly couldn’t go to Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius). Here’s a detailed review of the same.

Location

Location of Naples Experience Hostel

Naples Experience Hostel is located about 2 km away from the Naples Train Station. The best way to reach the hostel from the train station is to get a taxi which roughly costs about EUR 10. The hostel is not exactly in the center of Naples but they do have a good reason for it. The area in which Naples Experience Hostel is located is considered to be one of the safest neighborhoods of Naples.

Staff of Naples Experience Hostel

Once you enter Naples Experience Hostel, you will meet a lot of people near the reception. First, they look like staff members of the hostel but as the time passes, they slowly become like family members. Staff here is super-friendly & very helpful. They not only help you plan your day trips or Naples itinerary but also give you personal suggestions to make it more interesting.

Staff of Naples Experience Hostel

The best thing about the hostel is that the owner of the hostel, Donato, himself visits hostel every day & cooks breakfast & dinners for people. He is a fun guy & of course, a great cook! Alessandro is very interesting & willing to help in anything that you need. Mike is a jolly person as well. You would love to spend more time talking to them whenever you get chance because they have great stories to tell & because they are good people.

Sleep Quality

We stayed in 2 types of rooms at Naples Experience Hostel. The first one was a 10-beds dorm which was quite spacious even with all the people & their luggage in the room. The dorm had an ensuite bathrooms (2 toilets, 2 bathrooms & a washbasin) in it. The beds here were comfortable & the quality of bed linens, pillows etc. was good.

The second room where we stayed was a 4-bed dorm. This one provided more personal space if you are 4 people traveling together. However, it was quite small for 4 people (if you include the bags). You can request anyone from the reception to keep big bags inside the storage as well.

Kitchen Quality

Kitchen 1

The most happening part of Naples Experience Hostel is definitely their kitchen. Here, they make daily breakfast for the guests. Most of the times, you will find Donato cooking breakfast or dinner for guests. Their breakfast is nothing like other hostels. Everyday, there’s something different in the breakfast (mostly Naples special). You can easily dine here. You just have to buy a beverage worth EUR 2.5 & get dinner for free. They cook pasta & other local delicacies every night. Don’t miss it!

Kitchen

If you want to use kitchen for yourself, you can do that as well. It is a well maintained kitchen.

Amenities

Foosball Naples Experience Hostel

Naples Experience Hostel has vending machines from where you can get snacks or drinks. They also have entertainment systems like PS3 & PS4 with a great collection of games. You can also play foosball here. Their Wi-Fi is good. If you want a taxi to either the train station or airport, you can easily get it from here at a very reasonable price. If you are looking to plan your day trip to Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius or Amalfi Coast, you can take their taxi (the rates are very affordable).

They plan to add many more things in the future (Eg: The swimming pool is coming up soon). Keep checking their website whenever you are planning to visit Naples.

Overall

Naples Experience Hostel is indeed an experience. It is more than a hostel. You will love the atmosphere of the hostel & love Naples even more if you see it through their eyes. Definitely a great choice if you are looking for a place to stay in Naples.
