Review: Martindago B&B, Florence

Review- Martindago B&B, Florence

Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world for me. Mainly, because of my undying love for Assassin’s Creed 2 & its protagonist, Ezio Auditore. We spent 4 days in Florence during our trip & out of that, we stayed for 2 nights at this cute Bed & Breakfast called Martindago. Here’s a detailed review.

Location

Location of Martindago

The location of Martindago is really good. It is in the very center of the city. You can reach the main attraction of Florence i.e. Cathedral de Santa Maria Fiore in about 10 minutes. The famous Ponte Vecchio is about 7 mins away from the B&B. The area in which Martindago is located is very lively & safe. You will find restaurants, bars & many other things open till late, lots of people around & of course, the friendly locals!

Staff

Staff of Martindago

Martindago is a very personalised place. You will mostly find one of the co-owners at the B&B during some time of the day. They are really sweet & friendly. During the check-in process, they will take you through the amenities & features of the place, suggestions for food & drinks, attractions & tickets etc. The staff of Martindago is really caring. If you need them even at night, they are reachable over phone & WhatsApp.

Room Quality

Room Quality Martindago 1

Palatial rooms! That’s where we stayed. High ceilings, tasteful interiors, calm surroundings & ultra-comfortable beds, that’s how I’d define the room of Martindago. The room was definitely the highlight of our stay. There is more than enough space to keep your luggage in the room (Even if you have 20 huge bags). There are separate storage facility in the room. There are heaters, lockers & enough plugpoints as well.

I wish we had more days to stay in this particular room! <3 PS. The ceiling in the room comes under Heritage Structure hence it is also a treat while sleeping. 😉

Breakfast

At Martindago, they do not serve any breakfast but you will be given a coupon worth EUR 3.5 per night which you can use it at the cafe in the same building. The cafe serves nice food & definitely worth spending (even if your coupon gets over quickly). If you want tea, coffee or hot chocolate, you can easily get it from the B&B’s free machine itself.

Amenities

There is one common bathroom & toilet for all the rooms. We wish there were more bathrooms though. Their Wi-Fi does work nicely & accessible from anywhere. Martindago is on the 3rd floor & to reach there (with luggage or otherwise), they do have a lift as well.

Martindago is a B&B and its better that way. All you will find here is a peaceful stay, good sleep & friendly staff around to help you. The place doesn’t require many amenities.

Overall

Florence is huge & it is recommended that you spend at least 3-4 days here. After long days of exploration, you’d definitely want to come back to a place like home to rest. Martindago is definitely the place for that. Contact them through their website & book it in advance as they get full very fast! (No wonder)
