It was my 3rd time in Switzerland & I still hadn’t explored Zurich. When we were planning this trip, we decided to dedicate at least 3 days for this wonderful city & we are glad we did that because Zurich had so much to offer, especially in Winter. During our visit to Zurich, we stayed at Novotel Zurich City West. This review is based on 2 nights that we spent here.
Location
Novotel Zurich City West is located in the Industriequartier in Zurich. This is a very hip neighborhood located just 2.5 km away from Zurich HB (Central Train Station). Basically, the hotel is located in a very peaceful part of Zurich yet, the central area is just 10 mins away.
There is a tram station just 2 mins away from the hotel. The tram goes to Zurich HB in 10 minutes. It is very easy to commute to all of the popular monuments of Zurich from here.
Staff Of Novotel Zurich City West
I always like the hotel instantly more when the staff at the reception is friendly & nice. I am glad the same thing happened at Novotel Zurich City West. We reached Zurich quite early – around 10 AM. The official check-in time was 3 PM but by looking at our exhausting faces, their staff member gave us early check-in since they had a ready room.
We interacted with their staff members for various reasons & we always had warm responses, friendly interactions & great advice about traveling around Zurich. If you are staying here, ask their staff about their recommendations because, for us, those reccos really worked well.

Room Quality
We stayed in an executive room. This room was HUGE. We loved the tasteful interior. As we are working while traveling, the desk & the sofa were really useful. The bed was very comfortable & ensured 2 good nights of sleep.
Other amenities in the room included Nespresso machine, huge television, room service & of course, an attached bathroom.
The bathroom was big as well. Thankfully, it was not like many other luxury hotels’ bathrooms. 2 people can use toilet & bath separately here.
Onsite Restaurant & Breakfast
At Novotel Zurich City West, there is a restaurant as well. We had a nice hot pizza here at night since we were too hungry. Again, the night staff was amazing & they baked a really good pizza at that hour. You can also buy snacks like chips, chocolates, beverages, etc. from the hotel lobby itself.
We also had our breakfast included. Their breakfast spread was moderately big & it had most of the things that we usually eat for our breakfast. It indeed was filling for us.
Other Amenities
Novotel Zurich City West also has a swimming pool, fitness center & outdoor playground for kids. It is also perfect for business travelers as well since the hotel has meeting rooms, business center & proximity to Zurich airport.
Overall, we would definitely suggest Novotel Zurich City West for your trip to Zurich. Its location, staff & facilities are completely worth the price.
