Here’s wishing you all a very Happy New Year! May 2019 be that year which brings in immense strength, goodness, love, inspiration and newer journeys.
Our 2018 was like a bag full of mixed emotions, more like a resting year. But we’re very happy and excited to take on 2019 with utmost enthusiasm, positivity, goals, and energies to make it all happen!
What are we looking forward to this year?
Travel
Of course, we are looking forward to traveling a lot more this year. But in the past years, our travels would usually be longer trips in one go as opposed to traveling at regular intervals.
We definitely want to change that. Travel slow and explore deeper in terms of local elements and cultures. This year, we would like to take trips at least on a quarterly basis ranging from a period of 1-2 weeks.
Our bucket list includes a range of destinations- some over explored, some underexplored.
For example, we’d love to finally visit Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Vietnam this year.
The bucket list that we have been lusting over too hard includes China, Iran, Uzbekistan, anywhere in Africa and Turkey (beyond Istanbul)
Of course, we’d love to explore more of our homeland, India.
And road trips are right on the top of our mind for a lot of these trips!
Themed Trips
I have often heard people say that it makes no sense simply traveling to explore 1 element of a place. But I’d rather pick a theme for my trip as and when I can to make the most of it. For instance, our last trip to Vienna was all about hopping from one coffee house to another to explore and understand the Kaffeehauskultur.
That’s the kind of travel we’d love to take on this year- focussed, themed, experiential and above all with a sense of learning.
Content Creation & Sharing
Over the last couple of years, we’ve delivered hundreds of pictures, over 200 blog posts and over thousands of stories to share our travels, tips, experiences, the good and the bad. But trust me, we’ve got so much that is still to reach you!
Our major goal this year is to create a lot more content and share it with you.
Of course, it helps us grow as a blog, including our credibility. But most importantly it helps us to help you take inspiration and go out there and see the world and learn from it.
For the same, we will be using multiple platforms including our blog and social properties, to other traveler platforms, etc.
Community Building
Which brings us to one of our biggest goals- community building. Through our inconsistent efforts, we have managed to hear back from many of you who’ve decided to take the trips we take and try the things we’ve tried across the world.
We’ve helped with recommendations, budgeting, and hacks which have helped many travel and come back happy! This year, we shall take conscious efforts to maximize this process and build a community.
We hope to be able to help and get help, to create a community where we help each other travel.
Videos
Many of you are already aware of the efforts that we constantly put into World Culture Network. And we’d like to consciously create something with a different flavor for Awara Diaries. A video venture which will be helmed completely by Parichay and myself.
We’ve been wanting to do this for a while and we guess this is when we begin!
We’d love to keep you in the loop with our progress. We do have some personal projects lined up that we’re very excited about and shall reveal when things materialize further.
But till then, let’s stay connected and let’s keep inspiring each other!
Tell us what do you think of our goals and tell us what your goals for 2019 are!
Until Next Time!
